Watch It Live: SpaceX and NASA Prep for Saturday’s Historic Launch

Update: SpaceX and NASA successfully completed their historic launch.
Despite rain showers that have been moving through the area, NASA astronauts Douglas Hurley and Robert Behnken are at the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida preparing for a historic mission to the International Space Station, located 250 miles above Earth.
The crew is a “go” for launch at time of writing with less than 50 minutes until takeoff with weather conditions improving.
The astronauts are aboard Crew Dragon, a spacecraft developed by Elon Musk’s SpaceX. This is the first-ever crewed mission in the California-based company’s 18-year history and the first such mission for a private vehicle. If successful, it will also mark the first flight to space from American soil since 2011.
This is the second attempt since Crew Dragon failed to launch on Wednesday due to bad weather. Takeoff is now scheduled for 3:22 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.
Earlier this year the spaceflight company signed an agreement with Space Adventures to send up to four private citizens on a Crew Dragon trip around Earth. Trips are scheduled to start late-2021 to mid-2022.
