Wannabe Crypto Whale Tries to Send $46 Billion in Tether (USDT)

An attempt to send a transfer of 46 billion Tether (USDT), worth $46 billion, is turning heads among crypto whale watchers.

Whale Alert first reported the transfer, which tried to move significantly more than Tether’s total supply of 17.8 billion USDT between two unknown wallets.

The attempted transfer was later deemed to be invalid due to insufficient funds. According to Omni Explorer, the transfer would have cost just $0.52 if it had been valid.

?? This transaction is invalid. There are some issues at the moment with validation checks with OMNI, which is why this transaction got through. We are looking for a workaround.

Crypto whales at large have been relatively quiet as Bitcoin hovers above $10,000.

Two big Bitcoin transactions have hit the ledger in the last couple of days. One moved 8,180 BTC worth $82.9 million between two unknown wallets.

Another noticeably large Bitcoin transaction moved 12,009 BTC worth about $124.8 million, which was also sent between two wallets of unknown origin.

Both BTC transfers could be over-the-counter sales or represent traders or organizations moving funds between wallets to keep the assets secure.
