Hawaii grabs the top spot on Google Trends for the most Bitcoin searches by state. Rounding out the top 10 US states are California, Washington, New York, Nevada, New Jersey, Utah, Colorado, Illinois and Massachusetts.
US Representative Tulsi Gabbard, who has been serving Hawaii’s 2nd congressional district since 2013, released her latest financial disclosure form which was filed on Tuesday. It shows that in December 2017 she made two cryptocurrency investments, both under $15,000, in Ethereum and Litecoin.
Gabbard’s crypto investment disclosures follow that of Bob Goodlatte, Chairman of the House Ethics Committee, who disclosed earlier this month that he owns as much as $80,000 in Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash and Ethereum.
Hawaii has at least 12 active cryptocurrency and Bitcoin meetups.
The big island also has six Bitcoin ATMs with an additional two in the state.
Square’s Cash App just expanded Bitcoin buying and selling across all 50 states. Prior to Monday, the app was licensed to facilitate crypto transactions in all US states except for Hawaii, New York, Georgia, and Wyoming.
