PewDiePie Quits Cryptocurrency Platform DLive, Will Livestream Exclusively on YouTube

YouTube’s biggest independent creator Felix Kjellberg, better known as PewDiePie, is leaving the crypto-based livestreaming platform DLive to get back to his roots.

Kjellberg joined DLive in April of last year, introducing his millions of followers to the startup, which promises to give its users a significantly larger slice of the revenue pie than Twitch and YouTube.

He says his return to livestreaming exclusively on YouTube is the right fit, given his long history as its top creator.

“YouTube has been my home for over a decade now and livestreaming on the platform feels like a natural fit as I continue to look for new ways to create content and interact with fans worldwide.

Livestreaming is something I’m focusing a lot on in 2020 and beyond, so to be able to partner with YouTube and be at the forefront of new product features is special and exciting for the future.”

DLive is the largest livestreaming community on the blockchain. It began a transition from the Lino blockchain to Tron in December of last year, and is utilizing BitTorrent’s BTT cryptocurrency.

According to Dapp.com, DLive has five million monthly users and more than 80,000 active broadcasters.
