How I Stuck Together With Top 30 Forbes Guys at One Crypto Event

Speaking of ups and downs – from the very beginning of 2018, the situation in the cryptocurrency market really looks like a trip on a roller coaster: speedy take-off to record values of $828,537,000,000 on January 8, 2018, with a gradual decline…
Nevertheless, today cryptocurrency market capitalization exceeds twice its last year’s value. Moreover, overall statistics show that the Initial Coin Offering (ICO) boom is still gaining momentum. The amount raised in the first six months of 2018 more than equals the total investment in 2017, according to Snowfox Technologies, a tech solutions provider for startups.
Sadly, things don’t always go as smooth as they should. In my opinion, one of the most serious obstacles to the widespread implementation of cryptocurrency is the problem of its regulation. Many countries simply do not know how to regulate cryptocurrency without damage to the state and criticism from the country’s residents.
It’s not a secret that governments of different countries have been turning a blind eye to the advent of technology such as DLT, not wishing to study and make its use extensive.
That’s why today I want to share my experience of attending crypto summits. You should understand that some of them are completely nonsensical, while others can drastically change the course not only of your own life, but of all mankind, like Futurama Blockchain Innovators Summit, which has changed my life.
It’s a kind of G20 forum, but dedicated entirely to the crypto world. I was surprised by the format and the venues. Industry leaders, Arab luxury, networking in the desert and the biggest yacht in the Persian Gulf … and all this along with the opportunity to have a word with THEM – world famous entrepreneurs with gold iPhones, brand-new Lambos and tons of chicks (and not only as their Instagram followers).
Why did this event, and a few others, change my life?
I would rather say they changed my mindset. Each time I begin to think more global, and as a result I become more successful.
Well, I’m not talking about the new acquaintances, experiences and emotions that crypto conferences give me – it’s obvious, as obvious as the fact that each of you should, at least once, find yourself at such a crypto party, to give yourself a taste of your own medicine.
As a regular of crypto events, I can tell a lot of interesting things, which haven’t been published anywhere else before.
Let’s start with the organizational moments. I was lucky enough to talk with the event organizers, and this is what I’ve managed to find out:
The organization of one event requires a real team of professionals from all over the world: USA, Korea, UAE, many European countries. The key to success of any event, partially, lies in the internationality of the organizer’s team, since thanks to their different backgrounds as well as to the support of large companies, they are able to attract a wider audience.
The organizers do not sleep. Or sleep sitting. They can do it even standing up. Anywhere. I’m serious. During the last conference I visited, on the last day before the flight, when I went to the reception to check out I saw one of the organizers sitting on the sofa. I greeted him and in response I heard only a quiet, prolonged snoring. I looked closely – he really was asleep sitting. And they do not rest at the conference, as one may think. Instead they work all summit long. Arriving at the conference hall a little earlier, I could see how hard they were working: they set up cameras, sound, solve organizational problems among themselves and continue to provide online support 24/7.
Crypto stars are people like me or you. It may even turn out that you will be eating breakfast together at one table, drinking real Arabic coffee with dates melting in your mouth. Or sit in a jacuzzi surrounded by hot brunettes. Or be?ome a witness to how a crypto “shark” from the Top 100 Forbes list (revealed much later – but now I’m cleverer and always try to “google” about each speaker before the event) jumps naked in a kiddie pool in the middle of the night. Or maybe a young entrepreneur with a fortune and a bunch of talents will come meet you in the middle of a yacht party, as it happened to me. And we are still in contact, liking photos of each other on Instagram! You never know where and how exactly you will be able to communicate with real crypto whales, but this informal networking format of the conference will do everything for you – just relax and have fun. And that’s what I’m actually doing at every conference I attend.
Nevertheless, everyone has his own quirks. So, a young entrepreneur, the head of Hyperloop blockchain unit, with no embarrassment, was relaxing in a jacuzzi surrounded by hot Brazilian women, while Brock Pierce was drowning in fans, happily taking pictures with everyone and making the small talk. The guests were offered Tesla electric cars, but not every crypto enthusiast likes Tesla. CEO & Founder of EL Group International, top 30 under 30, Evan Luthra preferred the red Ferrari, arguing that Tesla does not have that mojo and the indescribable sounds of a powerful engine. Others, on the contrary, abandoned the Range Rover and Mercedes, ordering a Tesla taxi to experience the full technological and futuristic nature of Dubai.
Brock Pierce and Joshua Hong are very talented people and real crypto enthusiasts. I was lucky enough to talk to both of them, and guess what I noticed? They have their own crypto vibes: once you get into their zone of action, you just want to absorb more and more new knowledge from this area, in order to make your contribution to its development as well as the development of all humanity. These people think globally and every step, even the smallest one, is aimed at large-scale changes, improvements and the achievement of a positive result. They do not put boundaries in real life or within the conference. This is another reason for the success of these conferences – their participation.
During our small talk, Joshua Hong also shared his thoughts on the future of the crypto industry, as well as the aim of the crypto events. He told how top crypto whales, entrepreneurs and millionaires are mostly interested in events covering discussions on such key burning questions as “Why centralized exchanges are still the main growth driver of the decentralization movement” and “Are we at the end of an era or at the beginning of new cooperation when it comes to regulation” between the representatives of exchanges, banks and regulators.
Anyway, I say the future is the cryptocurrency, and highly progressive crypto events not only provide you with an opportunity to make a selfie with Brock Pierce, Evan Luthra or Roger Ver (but it doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t make it), but also stimulate people’s interest in the industry, raising their level of education and involvement.
And who knows, maybe bitcoin will soon replace Apple Pay.
