Ethereum Creator and ‘Great Dictator’ Vitalik Buterin Has Zero Input on Coming Hard Fork
Ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin is showing off his lack of involvement in Ethereum’s development.
Buterin has long said the platform he built needs to be developed by a group of coders in order to be truly decentralized. And in a new tweet, he says Ethereum’s upcoming Istanbul hard fork is happening without his input.

In October of last year, Buterin officially announced plans to “detach” himself from the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency.
Plans to reduce his involvement were apparently well underway back then, with Buterin noting that his contributions to Ethereum’s GibHub repository and the amount of research he was doing were already on the decline.
I think ethereum can absolutely survive me spontaneously combusting tomorrow at this point.

The Istanbul hard fork is a system-wide update designed to improve the blockchain’s efficiency and security. It’s the eighth hard fork since Ethereum’s launch in July of 2015.
Istanbul is expected to launch in October. At a recent meeting, Ethereum’s core developers said they plan to finalize the date in about two weeks.
