The ideal eating window for optimal digestion according to our 3 cycle phases is between 12pm and 8pm because that is the body's natural cycle.
Our body goes through 3 phases in a 24 hour period on the daily.
1️⃣Digestion phase
2️⃣Assimilation phase
3️⃣Elimination phase
The digestive phase occurs approximately between 12pm-8pm.
This is often why many suggest to eat only during daylight hours and to begin the first meal around noon.
If we are to eat anything before noon then fruit is optimal due to its high water content and the fact that fruit digests easier than anything else.
Those who eat a complex breakfast early in the morning overwork their digestive and rob their body of life force energy often needing coffee or some type of stimulant to feel like they are ready to face the day.
The Assimilation cycle occurs approximately 8pm-4am which is why it is so important to stop eating earlier than 8pm if possible.
I try to eat earlier dinners most days finishing my last meal by 7pm to allow that extra hour of digestion before assimilation begins.
Elimination or the eliminative cycle occurs around 4am to 12pm which is interesting because over the years of speaking with people I’ve learned that it is common for people to wake up around 4am feeling restless and hungry.
I believe this is because elimination can become quite uncomfortable and if we do eat, we suppress the body’s ability to eliminate effectively when we introduce food for digestion.
Some people notice bloating or gas issues when they eat early in the morning.
It’s likely because the body is not ready for digestion yet, so the digestive system can be slower and oftentimes sluggish.
Digestion is a complex task, and is a major energy drain on the body which is why we can feel cold, or tired after eating a large, less than ideal meal.
When we eat foods that require long digestive periods, then the body will direct all that energy to the digestive process instead of using that energy to clean & repair itself.
When we eat optimal foods between 12pm-8pm, such as fruits, greens, easy to digest veggies for example, the body will have more energy available for healing & elimination of wastes instead of that energy being used up for digestion
