Crypto Rally Fuels Coinbase Rumors, Plus News on Bitcoin, Ripple and XRP, Tron, Ethereum, Stellar and Cardano
From a sharp rally for a select group of altcoins to Tron’s big summit in San Francisco, here’s a look at some of the stories breaking in the world of crypto.
Altcoin Rally
As most of the crypto market moves sideways, traders are trying to figure out why a number of coins are shooting skyward.
Augur is leading the way. The decentralized betting platform is up more than 50% in the last 24 hours, according to the latest data on CoinMarketCap at time of publishing. Meanwhile, the energy ecosystem Power Ledger is up 35% on CMC.
While the recent rise of these coins, along with Loopring, Aeternity and Zilliqa, has triggered speculation on Reddit that one or more of the cryptocurrencies may soon be listed on the leading US crypto exchange Coinbase, here are the latest big developments with Augur, Power Ledger and Zilliqa.
• A new peer-to-peer prediction market built on the Augur platform just launched.• Power Ledger was just nominated for Newsweek’s first-ever Blockchain Impact Awards.• Zilliqa says it’s gearing up for its mainnet launch, expected to happen by the end of the month.
Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash
The Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash payment processor BitPay is reporting a record year.
The company says it processed $1 billion in transactions and set a record for transaction fee revenue, adding a number of high-profile customers including Dish Networks, HackerOne and the State of Ohio.

Ripple and XRP
Ripple’s senior vice president of business and corporate development Kahina Van Dyke just spoke at the Crypto Finance Conference in St. Moritz, Switzerland. Van Dyke talked with British entrepreneur Eric van der Kleij about the internet of value and the potential for crypto to reach mass adoption.

Meanwhile, XRP supporters are pushing Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao to add XRP to the new fiat-to-crypto exchange Binance Jersey.
The newly launched exchange pairs Bitcoin and Ethereum with the British pound and the euro, and is available in 58 countries.

Ethereum
