Crypto E-Commerce Platform Expands With Litecoin Support, Targets Shoppers at More Than 290 Retail Brands
Litecoin is now supported by StormShop, an e-commerce platform that allows consumers to earn crypto rewards for shopping online. Users can now earn upwards of 40% back in LTC when they shop at top retailers such as eBay, Macy’s, GameStop, Princess Cruise Lines and Microsoft.
StormShop, the reward based e-commerce web plugin from Seattle-based StormX, enables consumers to earn cryptocurrency as they shop online. The plugin is integrated with over 290 merchants across several industries, including travel, food and entertainment.
By shopping online at participating retailers, users can earn cash back in Litecoin (LTC), the world’s fifth-largest cryptocurrency, for every purchase anywhere, anytime and from any device.
According to StormX CEO Simon Yu, the platform is designed to empower users to monetize their online activities.
“Getting the chance to work with Charlie and the Litecoin Foundation to reward our users with Litecoin is another step towards mass adoption. Consumers spend so much time and money online, sharing their data freely, that ensuring they don’t leave any money on the table with their online interactions is a core tenet of what we’re building here at StormX. We are now able to reward users with a growing number of the most secure and popularly adopted cryptocurrencies in the world for their online interactions.”
The company has been ramping up joint efforts to make crypto a popular payment method for everyday items.
StormShop has also announced that the following brands are now active on the platform:
Tom and Teddy
Halo Hair
Design by Humans
JClub.com
Makeup Eraser
Maurices
Orig3n
Saucony
Ooh La Luxe
According to the announcement, Litecoin’s integration will also merge with StormPlay, which has earned users 249 BTC, 843 ETH and 843.7 million STORM for completing microtasks, like taking a survey or using a food delivery app for the first time.
StormPlay’s technology is built on the Ethereum network. The company reports that it has more than 2.5 million users across 187 countries since launching in January 2014, making it one of the largest cryptocurrency consumer applications.
Litecoin Foundation project director David Schwartz says he expects LTC users to embrace the new integration and interact with StormPlay to earn more crypto.
In addition to Litecoin, users can also cash out in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, DAI and Storm Tokens.
