Crypto Developer Says He Has Coronavirus, Warns Anyone Who Attended Recent Ethereum (ETH) Conferences
Zhen Yu Yong, the co-founder of Torus Labs, says he’s fallen ill with the novel coronavirus, and that anyone who had close contact with him at the Ethereum Community Conference or EthLondon should get tested.
Yong says his doctor thinks he got the virus “from somewhere in France.” There’s also a chance he contracted the virus from someone at the Stanford Blockchain Conference or Ethereum Denver in mid-February.
Says Yong,
“My symptoms turned up the night before last and in general, they are; fever, breathlessness, cough, and a running nose – although you don’t have to have all of them to have it.”
Yong also says he believes Singapore is handling the virus rather well, describing the process as “mature”.
“The processes in Singapore seem quite mature; I’ve been ferried via ambulance to be tested/warded, at the testing centre care is taken to prevent cross-contamination, and to test they ‘swab’ you (stick cotton bud down your nose, it’s not comfortable).”
The coronavirus outbreak has prompted numerous event cancellations and postponements with 128,343 cases confirmed and 4,720 deaths reported worldwide, according to the real-time tracker by Johns Hopkins University.
