Binance To List New Ethereum Layer-2 on Exchange’s First Pre-Market Trading Launch

Binance, the largest digital asset exchange in the world, is about to list its first pre-market altcoin for trading.

In a blog post, the exchange says it is listing the new Ethereum (ETH) layer-2 Scroll (SCR) on the Binance Pre-Market platform, a service announced last month that allows users to acquire tokens in advance of their official spot listing.

Says Binance,

“Binance will be the first platform to list the token mentioned herein, with Pre-Market trading starting at 2024-10-11 10:00 (UTC). Any claims to offer this token for sale before the stated timeline are likely to be false advertising. Please do your own research to ensure safety of your funds!”

Scroll is also the the 60th project on Binance Launchpool, a Binance service that allows users to earn yet-to-be-launched tokens by staking BNB, the exchange’s utility coin. Users have been able to accrue Scroll through Launchpool since October 9th.

Pre-Market trading will be conducted in the SCR/USDT trading pair.

Says Binance,

“Pre-Market end time and spot listing time will be announced at a later date.”

According to Binance, Scroll is a project aiming to solve Ethereum network congestion and reduce its fees.

“Scroll is a Layer-2 zkRollup solution using zero knowledge proof technology to scale Ethereum, making it cheaper and faster without compromising security and compatibility.”

The total supply of the Scroll token is 1 billion with an initial circulating supply of 190 million, 19% of the total token supply.
